The type of use is decisive when reclaiming wood
Scrap wood and firewood are prepared as chips or cuttings, depending on their properties, and these can then be transported, stored or incinerated. Wood which is to be used as raw material must fulfil various criteria. The quality and properties of the wood are important when it is used as raw material for the wood-processing industry.
Homogeneous, dust-free cuttings for the paper, cellulose and chipboard industry using Holzmag technology
The production of wood fibres is of great importance as a basic material for the paper and cellulose industry. They are recovered from homogenous woodchips. Similar applies to the chipboard industry, which requires high-quality shavings for various layers, which are then further shredded. Holzmag technology makes it possible to produce homogenous, dust-free cuttings in this field.
Preparing manufacturing waste from wood processing for energy utilization using Holzmag briquette presses
For the utilization of energy, besides scrap wood and firewood, manufacturing waste resulting from wood processing is also used. A homogenous wood structure, such as one finds in sawdust, is needed as the basis for high-quality wood pellets, which are used as an oil substitute in domestic burners, and also in extruder technology for making compounds for wood-like products. For this purpose, it has to be dried and conditioned so that the pellet has all the characteristics of a high-quality fuel or additive material.
To handle the mixed shavings waste from wood processing, the Holzmag briquette presses of the ELAN series have been developed, for small and medium-sized companies. These compact the shavings volume to 1:15, and allow the woodworker to store the waste as fuel without needed a shavings silo, and use it during the heating period.
Furniture factories use the Holzmag briquette presses of the ELAN series for abrasive dust or filter dust which could form a highly explosive mixture when carried in the air.
For the small or medium enterprise, the Holzmag Hydropellet press was developed, which runs fully automatically and, using the Holzmag Hydrosilo or some other silo unit, automatically feeds the pellets to the heater. Holzmag is acknowledged to be the pioneer of hydraulic briquette presses, and was granted the first patent for the chamber-compression system in 1989.
